MYNT.ERVIEW

Name something you love, and why.

I love food, because it’s a beautiful way to demonstrate affection and to connect people. I love cooking and experimenting new things, specially for other people. Food talks culture, heritage and regionality. I also food found to be a great conversation starter with most people, specially when you are abroad.

Which professional success meant the most to you?

After carrying all of my functions alone for many years, it meant so much when I first got signed to an agency and had other people help me build my work and brand.

Could you eat pancakes for a whole week?

If I could add different toppings, maybe?

Analog or Digital?

Analog, always.

Where do you go when you want to be with you?

The sea.

A question that moves you right now

What can I do with my work to benefit others and improve the way they see themselves?

Why photography?

Unlike painting and drawing, photography always has a glimpse of reality (even if it’s a constructed one). With photography you can freeze time for a split second, and keep that moment forever. Photographs can be proofs.

What was the weirdest encounter, the craziest adventure or the most beautiful moment you experienced on a shoot?

For me the most beautiful moment I experienced on a shoot was photographing for Marie Claire last year, featuring three beautiful naked big models I love and admire: Fluvia Lacerda, Rita Carreira and Taiany Borges. As a fat woman myself, having the opportunity to break standards and show beauty in all sizes was a very emotional and important experience, not only for me but I believe for all of those involved.

What is more important to you: Form or content?

Both are important equally for me.

What part of the human face is your favorite?

The eyes.

Where does your inspiration live?

Inside of me and in nature. There is no biggest artist than Mother Earth.

What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I don’t let fear stop me doing anything. I might do it with fear, but I do it anyway.
